Get ready for the - New Zealand Electrical Conference 2025
We are excited to announce the appointment of Omri Ash as its third and new Chair of Master Electricians. Omri has built his entire career in the electrical industry, and with his long-standing dedication to Master Electricians, he is the ideal person to guide us into the future.
Omri began his journey in the electrical industry in 1985 as an apprentice at Frank Millar and Co Wellington Ltd. Since then, he’s worked his way through the ranks as an electrical tradesman, director, and shareholder of the company—now known as Millars Electrical Ltd. Over the past 38 years, Omri has established Millars Electrical as a leading commercial electrical contractor in Wellington, employing 45 staff, including 10 apprentices. Under his leadership, Millars Electrical earned the Silver Project Award at this year’s Master Electricians Excellence Awards for the BNZ Tower in Wellington.
Omri has been actively involved with Master Electricians throughout his career, serving as a Wellington branch committee member, President, and NPAF representative. He then advanced into a national director role, where he has served on the board for over four years.
Omri is married to Paula, and together they have three children. They prioritise a strong family focus, balancing their busy work lives with quality time spent together. Omri is deeply committed to making a positive impact in his community and has held several leadership roles which include a position on a school board and various couching, governance and leadership roles within sports clubs and foundations. He also enjoys staying active through social sports and plays football, cricket and tennis. Traveling and spending time with family and friends help him maintain a healthy work-life balance.
“Omri’s dedication to the electrical industry and his extensive leadership experience make him the perfect choice to guide Master Electricians to light the way to a brighter future for members and the electrical industry. His focus on quality, culture, and innovation will be invaluable as we strive to deliver even greater value to our members and partners,” says Alex Vranyac-Wheeler, CEO of Master Electricians.
To ensure a seamless leadership transition, former Chair Colin Smith will remain on the board until 31 December to provide ongoing support and guidance.
We are confident that Omri’s leadership will continue to strengthen Master Electricians and position us as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the industry. Please join us in congratulating Omri on his appointment!
